Plainsboro to celebrate Founders Day on Sunday

PLAINSBORO — School bands, Civil War re-enactors, dancers and puppets will help usher in the township’s 25th annual Founders Day Celebration on Sunday, May 2.
Billed as a celebration of the township’s incorporation, the all-day event will feature a wide array of festivities for both children and adults.
A parade, set to begin at 12:30 p.m. at Water’s Edge Park on Pond View Drive, will end on Plainsboro Road at the Municipal Complex. Everything from marching bands and Chinese drummers to cartoon characters and antique cars will participate in the parade. One new addition will be a parade of flags celebrating the township’s diverse population.
Young people who want to march or ride their bikes in the parade can join the Kids Kaboose at the Wicoff School on Parkway Avenue.
Scheduled festivities for the rest of the day include live entertainment, martial arts demonstrations, cultural performances, historical displays and games for children and adults. The day will culminate with a family concert and musical contests led by the Daisy Jug Band.
Drivers should park their vehicles on Enterprise Drive across the street from the Municipal Complex. No parking will be allowed at the complex.
The rain date is set for May 8.
