The Nerds, fireworks, movie in Freehold Twp.
The Cpl. Philip A. Reynolds Detachment, U.S. Marine Corps League, Freehold, will partner with the Freehold Township Parks and Recreation Department for their first concert and movie in the park.
On July 31 at Michael J. Tighe Park (formerly Liberty Oak Park), Freehold Township, The Nerds will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. A fireworks display will follow at 9 p.m. and the movie will begin at 9:15 p.m. The name of the movie could not be published because of license restrictions. The Marine Corps will be selling food at a concession stand to raise funds for programs supported by the Marines. Some of the programs are Toys for Tots, bingo at nursing homes, food for the needy, veterans’ burials, and outreach programs at veterans hospitals.
