Angelina Perna
Longtime Princeton resident
   
Angelina Nini Perna of Princeton died Wednesday at University Medical Center at Princeton. She was 91.
   Born in Pettoranello, Italy, she was a Princeton resident most of her life.
   Mrs. Perna was a member of Roma Eterna and a parishioner of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Princeton.
   She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as in her garden and her kitchen, where she was revered for her family meals.
   Wife of the late Sebastian Perna, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Angelo and Audrey Perna and Michael and Diane Perna, all of Princeton; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Michele and Frank Penecale; and grandchildren Sebastian Perna, Michael Perna, Jennifer Perna and Stephen Perna.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
   Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
   Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today and 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton, NJ 08542.

LAWRENCE — Clyde S. "Buster" Thomas died Monday at Capital Health System’s Mercer Campus. He was 70.
   Born in Princeton, he lived in Lawrence for 30 years.
   He retired in 1994 after 20 years with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, where he was director of administrative services. He previously worked for the New Jersey Department of the Treasury and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry.
   He graduated in 1948 from the Witherspoon School on Quarry Street in Princeton Borough with the last segregated class. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1952, attended The Pennington School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and labor relations in 1958 from Pennsylvania State University.
   Active in the community and especially concerned with social issues facing the black community, he was on the board of trustees of Princeton Nursery School, a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and a member of Penn State Alumni Association, Aaron Lodge No. 9 and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
   He was a member of First Baptist Church of Princeton since 1948.
   From 1995 to 2000, he worked with young black boys in mentoring and self-esteem programs in Princeton and Lawrence.
   Son of the late Sylvia Ann Thomas and David T. Thomas, he is survived by his wife, Bette; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sandra; granddaughters Sydney Erin and Chase Elizabeth of Burlington Township; daughter Sharahn of Alexandria, Va.; and his family in Boston.
   The funeral will be noon Saturday at First Baptist Church of Princeton, John Street and Paul Robeson Place, Princeton, with the Rev. Carlton Branscomb officiating.
   Interment will be private.
   Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Joyce A. W. Lasseter
Former Montgomery resident
   
PENNINGTON — Joyce Ann Wyld Lasseter died Sept. 24 at home. She was 71.
   Born in Albany, N.Y., she lived in Texas and California before settling for 20 years in Montgomery Township. She and her husband retired to the Northern Neck area of Virginia until two years ago, when she moved back to the Princeton area to be closer to her family.
   She began her career as a retail buyer, and ultimately worked with her husband at Stewart Title Guaranty Co., where she held many responsibilities, including elaborate party planning.
   She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and The College of Saint Rose.
   She enjoyed travel and was an avid tennis player, gourmet cook and gardener.
   Wife of the late Hobart David Lasseter, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Diana and Gary Drake of Pennington; son and daughter-in-law Stewart and Alexa Lasseter of Prescott, Ariz.; granddaughter Julia Grace Drake of Pennington; twin sister Gail L. Wyld of Dorset, Vt.; mother Grace Wyld, brother and sister-in-law John S. Jr. and Elizabeth Wyld, nephew John S. Wyld III, niece Elizabeth Wyld and grandniece Victoria Rose, all of Albany, N.Y.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earle F. and Sally Lasseter, niece and nephew-in-law Fern and Rick Raley and nephew David Lasseter, all of Georgia.
   A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Princeton.

Jean M. Israel
High school student
   
Jean Mario Israel of Princeton died Sept. 24 in Trenton. He was 19.
   Born in Haiti, he was a Princeton High School student and was a member of the wrestling and football teams.
   He is survived by foster parents Thomas and Joanne Parker of Princeton; their children, Tahira, Farah, Kaamilah, Towmaa, Jawhara and Taariq Parker; Mr. and Mrs. Willa Brittain and their daughter, Lindsey Brittain; mother Marylin Israel; sisters Sherley Jean-Guillaume and Jennifer Jean-Guillaume; grandmother Anderee Israel; uncle Hilaire "JR" Israel; nephew Armahni Pearcy; special friends Toby Klein, Anthony Bailey, Eileen Valentine and Frances Craig; and other close friends Justin Thomas, John Hayes, Richard Wilson and Maria Guervil.
   The funeral was Thursday.
   Arrangements were by Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
