Woman’s Association of Allentown to meet

  • The Woman’s Association of Allentown held a special event recently. Armed with flashlights, flower bulbs, candles and with an affirmation of life in mind, several past and current members and friends of WAA met on the night of the first full moon after the autumn equinox, to state their affirmation and to plant a bulb, as done in an American Indian custom. The bulbs were planted at the home of WAA president Meg Smith.
  • The October meeting of WAA will be held Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Allentown Public Library. Nancy Stein will be the guest speaker, and refreshments will follow the presentation.

The Allentown afghan, the WAA continuous fund-raiser, is available in forest green and cranberry, and soon will be available in Williamsburg blue. To order, call Janice Schmitt, (609) 259-2044, or Off the Wall, the Allentown Library, the Village Pharmacy or Allentown Auto Body.
