The Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, will honoring the Rev. Dr. Donald D. Warner at its 13th annual testimonial dinner and journal tribute Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at Excelsior Caterers, Manalapan. Warner served as superintendent of schools at Red Bank Regional High School for 24 years. Following retirement, Warner received his master’s degree in Christian education, and was ordained a minister at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank. He served on the Brookdale board of trustees for 18 years, retiring as its chairman in 2003. The college’s student life center was named after Warner in 2003. He is a former member of the board of trustees at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, and member of Gov. Christine Todd Whitman’s task force committee. He is also past director of the Monmouth County Urban League. Keynote speaker will be Maude Dahme, a Holocaust survivor who has recognized for her work on the New Jersey Board of Education. The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) will sponsor its annual “Public Policy Day” themed “Money, Power, Position … Women Changing the Landscape of Public Policy” Nov. 15. The event will begin with breakfast at 9 a.m., and will be at the Rooms 101/103 at the State House Annex, Trenton. The public is invited to attend. The forum will include presentation of S.E.E.D. grants by Susan Bass Levin, commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, to this year’s winners.
