Rocks hurled at area motorists

EDISON — “Mischief night” mischief got a little dangerous last week, police said.

Officers responded to two reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles traveling on Woodland Avenue between 10:25 and 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 30, police reports said.

In the first incident, a Piscataway woman, whose age was unavailable, was injured when a rock was hurled through the rear passenger-side window of a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by her father, according to police reports.

She was treated for minor scrapes to her face at Muhlenburg Hospital in Plainfield and released, police reports said.

Twenty minutes later, an Edison couple reported that a “grapefruit size” rock was thrown at their 2003 BMW as it traveled north on Woodland. It smashed through a rear window and landed on the back seat of the vehicle. No one was injured, police reports said.

A police search of the area turned up no suspects.
