Burglars hit three homes

METUCHEN — Police are investigating three burglaries that took place on Highland Avenue earlier this month.

Two were reported between 9:54 p.m. and 11:02 p.m. on Nov. 6, and the third, which was reported Nov. 7, most likely happened the previous day, police said.

The burglar or burglars struck three houses located near each other, said Officer David Liantonio.

In two instances, entry was gained by forcing a rear window. In the other, a door was kicked in, Liantonio said.

Residents reported finding the interiors of their homes ransacked. Cash and jewelry was stolen from two of the homes, and computer equipment was stolen from the third, police said.
