The Horse Park of New Jersey, Upper Freehold Township, announced that Kubota has been named the official tractor of the park, and that Hoober Inc. will continue its support at the facility.

The 147-acre Horse Park is a combination of private not-for-profit organizations and state government joining together to develop a world-class equine facility. The facility is on Route 524.

Kubota is a supplier of compact utility tractors featuring four-wheel drive models from 15 to 125 engine horsepower. Kubota manufactures its own tractors, utility vehicles, attachments and accessories such as loaders, mid-mount mowers and backhoes.

Hoober Inc. is a third-generation family-owned farm business that began operation in Intercourse, Pa., in 1941 and now has four dealerships, two in Delaware and two in Pennsylvania.

H&R Block has opened an office in Marlboro Plaza, 108 Route 9 north, Marlboro. The office celebrated its grand opening Jan. 8 with an open house, when attendees had the opportunity to talk with H&R Block professionals about tax law changes, tax planning and other financial issues. The office will be open during the week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are accepted, but the public is welcome to stop in for service. New Jersey Shore Builders Association will hold its annual Fabulous Achievement in Marketing Excellence (FAME) Awards Gala Feb. 17, beginning with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m., at the Grand Marquis, Old Bridge. The event will honor those companies and individuals who represent outstanding achievement in the home-building industry as well as excellence in sales and marketing.

Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly general meeting Feb. 17 at 8:30 a.m. at the chamber office, 17 Broad St., Freehold. Robert D. Clifton and William C. Barham, newly elected Monmouth County Freeholders, will discuss their hope and plans for Monmouth County in 2005, and the long-term economic outlook as envisioned by the two newest members of the board.

Investors Savings Bank, headquartered in Short Hills, announced that its employees have pledged $15,765.50 in its first United Way campaign. The amount was matched by the bank to bring the total pledge to $31,531.

Investors Savings Bank joined the United Way of Monmouth County family of community partners this past year. Last year, Investors Savings Bank participated in Days of Caring, by sending 14 volunteers to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. As a corporation, Investors Savings Bank also donated 100 backpacks to the Boys and Girls Club of Asbury Park through the School Time Wishes program in addition to running its first United Way campaign.

CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, announced that James Matera, D.O., board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology, has been named a member of the Board of Trustees for CentraState Healthcare System. Dr. Matera is director of medical education and was chair of internal medicine from 201 to 2004. He was voted CentraState Physician of the Year in 2004 by the medical/dental staff.

Dr. Matera joined the medical staff of CentraState Medical Center in 1994. He earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.
