Hospital offers career workshop for students

Raritan Bay Medical Center will offer an intensive June 24-30 Health Care Connection Career Workshop designed for students who are entering their senior year of high school and are interested in pursuing careers in the health care field. The program will take place at the medical center’s Old Bridge division, off Ferry Road, between routes 9 and 18, and at its Perth Amboy division, 530 New Brunswick Ave.

Six selected students will observe a variety of health care situations by working with physicians, nurses and staff in a wide range of departments including pathology, the emergency room, nursing units, the laboratory, surgical suite, pharmacy and more.

Experts in each field will provide career information and resources. Students will engage in hands-on activities and observations designed to offer insight into a large number of health care careers.

Acceptance into the Health Care Connection program is limited. Transportation between the medical center’s Old Bridge and Perth Amboy divisions will be the responsibility of each program participant.
