Amalio “Mayo” Martinez
Mr. Martinez, 88, of Perth Amboy, died March 22 at home. Born in Puerto Rico, he resided in Perth Amboy most of his life. He was a factory worker at Lee Filters, Edison, for several years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Guayanilla Social Club, Perth Amboy. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elena in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Lydia; four sons and daughters-in-law, Amalio and Maria Martinez Jr. of Connecticut, Angelo and Donna Martinez of Sewaren, Edwin and Nelsie Martinez of Pennsylvania, and Albert and Nancy Martinez of Perth Amboy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Awilda and Rafael Martinez, and Irma Martinez, all of Orlando, Fla., 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at LaAsuncion Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was at ST. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
Viola Ronge Vitale
Mrs. Vitale, 77, of East Brunswick, died March 21 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township, and Florida, prior to moving to East Brunswick 1 1/2 years ago. She was a homemaker. she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel. She was a member of the East Brunswick Woman’s Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Vitale in 1994. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Glenn Palmer of East Brunswick; a son, Sen. Joseph F. Vitale, New Jersey 19th Legislative District; a brother, Joseph B. Ronge Jr. of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at First Presbyterian Church. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden. Arrangements were by Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel. Augusta “Gussie” Gursaly
Mrs. Gursaly, 88, of Woodbridge, died March 22 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Woodbridge, she was a lifelong resident. She was a retired sales clerk at Dee-Dee, Perth Amboy. Prior to that, she was an assembler at Westinghouse Corporation, Edison, for 11 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Woodbridge, and former member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Widows or Widowers Group, Woodbridge, and Woodbridge Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, John Gursaly in 1990. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Andrew Nagy of the Fords section of Woodbridge, Marie and Robert Sinka of the Iselin section of Woodbridge, and Patricia and Frank Kaufmann of South Plainfield; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Joanne Gursaly of Fords; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Avenel section of Woodbridge. Interment was at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.
