The Jackson Post Office has announced the addition of an Automated Postal Center (APC) to its facility. APCs provide easy access to banking services, much like Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at banks. However, unlike ATMs, APCs do not add transaction fees.

The Jackson Post Office was among the facilities chosen to receive an APC because it is one of the nation’s 2,500 busiest post offices. The APCs will enable customers to enter the post office lobby 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and conduct their business using credit and debit cards. Services include buying stamps; weighing and calculating postage on items weighing up to 70 pounds; sending items via Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail, and Parcel Post; looking up ZIP codes and obtaining mailing information; and obtaining Express Mail, Certified Mail, and Return Receipts. Purchase Delivery Confirmation services and receipts are also available through the APC. Postal staff will be placed in the lobby to assist customers with initial transactions.
