Babies “R” Us, Route 9 south, Manalapan, will host “Grandparents Are Special Break-Fest” Sept. 10 from 9-10:30 a.m. In celebration of Grandparents Day, the store will offer refreshments, a seminar on baby products and product demonstrations. Main St. (adjacent to Walgreens), Freehold Township, Sept. 20, 6-8 p.m. The bank is in the Mount’s Corner shopping center. The fee is $10 and includes food and adult refreshments. Mon-Oc Federal Credit Union employees and members recently participated in a drive to collect school supplies for children in need. Credit Union staff and members picked an apple from the “apple tree” located in each Mon-Oc branch throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties. Each apple represented a child in need of back-to-school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, etc. Among the organizations that benefited from the drive are Ocean’s Harbor House in Toms River, Howell Human Services Department, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, and 180 Turning Lives Around in Hazlet.
