Dorothy K. Nimick

Mrs. Nimick, 79, of The Villages, Howell, died May 30, 2007, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. She was born in Freehold and was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retiring in 1990, Mrs. Nimick was the court clerk for the borough of Freehold for 17 years. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward O. Kirby and Arthur Kirby, and two sisters, Jeanetta K. Treat and Sarah Huber. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Nimick; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George E. Nimick of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and fiancée Peggy, and Craig J. and Antoinette Nimick of Freehold; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley A. and Thomas Cook, also of Freehold; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Donald D. Tanner

Mr. Tanner, 66, of Englishtown, died May 29, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after a long illness. Born and raised in Englishtown, he had lived in Newark for more than 25 years before entering Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan, in June 2004. He worked in construction. Mr. Tanner was predeceased by a brother, Herbert R. Tanner; two sisters, Arline D. Tanner and Gail M. Tanner-Copeland; and his longtime companion, Grace Pittman. Surviving are two brothers, Charles C. Tanner Jr. of Lakewood and Bobby J. Tanner of Monroe; four sisters, Shirley J. Johnson and Patricia D. Simms, both of Freehold, Sondra P. Little of Asbury Park and Jerri D. Tanner of Trenton; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Peter C. Andersen

Mr. Andersen, 53, of Manalapan, died May 31, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born in Denver, he had lived in Berkeley Heights, Hamilton Square and Millstone Township before moving to Manalapan two years ago. He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., as well as a master of business administration degree in finance from Rutgers Business School, New Brunswick. He was the manager of quality engineering for Carter-Wallace Inc./Church & Dwight Co., Princeton, for 22 years. He was also proctor chairman of the American Society for Quality, secretary of ASTM International (originally the American Society for Testing and Materials), an ASTM Task Group chairman, and a U.S. delegate for the International Organization for Standardization. Mr. Andersen was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Edward Andersen. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Peter Andersen of Hamilton, Jerry and Adrian Andersen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Michael Csordas and Ryan Csordas, both of Manalapan; two daughters, Stacy Andersen of Robbinsville and Gina Csordas of Keansburg; a brother, David Andersen of Round Rock, Texas; a sister, Carrie Dunn of Bristow, Va.; his stepmother, Lorrie Andersen of Morristown; three grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. A funeral service was held at Hope Lutheran Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

James P. McDonagh

Mr. McDonagh, 60, of Howell, died June 11, 2007, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had resided in Palisades Park before moving to Howell 13 years ago. He was an electrician for the Petrocelli Electric Co. at the United Nations, New York City, for 38 years. Mr. McDonagh was a communicant of St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Charlene Westphal McDonagh; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James P. Jr. and Denise McDonagh of Teaneck, and Michael C. McDonagh of Howell; a daughter, Ann Grace McDonagh of Howell; two brothers, John and Michael McDonagh; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary and Thomas Moore, Kathleen and Peter Fimbel, Eileen and Jack Fritzky, and Bridget McDonagh; a sister-in-law, Susan Kirby; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Joanne Westphal; a grandson, James J. McDonagh; many nieces and nephews; and his close friend and golf partner, Alan Purcell. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Veronica’s Church. Frances P. DellaRocca

Mrs. DellaRocca, of Applewood Estates, Freehold Township, died June 1, 2007, at home. She was born in Jersey City and had resided in Lakewood before moving to Freehold Township four years ago. Prior to retiring, she was a proofreader for The Jersey Journal, Jersey City. She had previously been employed by a printing company in Jersey City. Mrs. DellaRocca was predeceased by her first husband, Edward R. Fausak, in 1955; her second husband, Alfonso R. DellaRocca, in 1997; and a brother and sister, Thomas and Lorraine. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Christine Fausak of Freehold Township; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Donald Byrnes of Bayonne; a sister-in-law, Joanne McComb; and two grandchildren, Edward and Abagail. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Joseph T. Simoniello

Mr. Simoniello, 62, of Hazlet, died June 12, 2007, at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Holmdel, Red Bank, and the West Keansburg section of Hazlet prior to relocating to Hazlet six years ago. He was an electrical engineer at AT&T, Short Hills, and for several other companies, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Jaycees, Holmdel, and a past member of the Free & Accepted Masons, and the Knights of Columbus, both Red Bank. He was a mentor at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark. Mr. Simoniello is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rosalie Auriemma Simoniello; a son, Paul Simoniello of Holmdel; a daughter, Denise Aquinas of Colts Neck; a stepdaughter, Sharon Roberts of Keyport; two stepsons, William Swartz of Parlin and James Swartz IV of Old Bridge; and 13 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Mary L. Davis

Mrs. Davis, 66, of Freehold Township, died June 11, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Perth Amboy, she had lived in Howell before moving to Freehold Township 12 years ago. Surviving are her husband, Ronald C. Davis Sr.; a son, Ronald C. Davis Jr. of Florida; four daughters, Donna DeFilippo of Lakewood, Dawn Reynolds of Howell, and Deborah Arcoleo and Denise Jones, both of Freehold Township; a brother, John “Sonny” Erdek; five sisters, Gloria Mazur, Grace Belko, Barbara Novak, Madeline Thompson and Dorothy Kosh; and 13 grandchildren. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
