Mrs. Connell, 74, died Dec. 8, 2007, at Meridian Nursing Home, Shrewsbury. Born in Rhode Island, she resided there and in the Lincroft section of Middletown, Rumson, Moorestown and several other New Jersey towns as well as Deerfield Beach, Fla., before relocating to Shrewsbury. Mrs. Connell was a former communicant of Holy Cross Church, Rumson. She was president of the ladies auxiliary at Cooper University Hospital, Moorestown. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Prepsel, in 2005. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah Maher of Hamilton, Mary and Robert Gaynor of Rumson, Patricia A. Connell of Fair Haven, and Eleanor C. and Michael Whalen of Rockville, Md.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
