Emergency calls know no bounds

I look around the house at all my Giant merchandise. I have Christmas ornaments, hats, T-shirts, jerseys, sweatshirts and even a blanket. All these items came to me over the years from my friend Tim.
There may be longer-time Giant fans, but few are as passionate as Tim. Watching a game with him is like being at a pep rally. We yell at the screen with fervor, as though the players could hear us. We all watched and cheered like maniacs through this improbable run to the Super Bowl. This past Sunday, early in the fourth quarter, we were rooting like maniacs against those hated Patriots.
Could it happen? Could the Giants pull the upset?
Suddenly an alarm went off — “structure fire.”
You see, Tim is a volunteer firefighter. And, despite his beloved Giants being in the middle of a tremendous Super Bowl game, Tim ran out the door, with not a moment’s hesitation.
You see, Tim is Tim Coyle, fire chief of Hillsborough Fire Co. No. 3. And that’s what they do … They drop everything and race to a fire.
So, as we salute the Giants on their great win, let’s remember the real heroes — the everyday heroes. Guys like Tim and all the firefighters that respond, without hesitation, every time, especially when it is most inconvenient.
   Thanks.
