Princeton Township
   Kenneth H. Jackson, 32, of Charlotte Church, Va., was charged with careless driving at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday after the tractor trailer truck he was driving struck a traffic signal light, causing it to break off and land on top of the trailer, police said. Mr. Jackson’s vehicle struck the light after he turned too tightly from Alexander Street onto Faculty Road, police said. He then drove approximately 50 feet with the traffic light still on top of the trailer before it fell off onto Faculty Road, police said. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Mercer County Department of Transportation and Public Service Electric & Gas Co. were called to the scene for repairs to the traffic light.
   Approximately $400 worth of property — including a credit card, perfume, change, sunglasses and mints — was stolen from five unlocked vehicles that were entered on Carnahan Place, Henry Avenue and Jefferson Road on Sunday, police said. A caller reported at 5:34 a.m. that he observed a short male wearing a leather jacket and wool cap inside his vehicle, police said. The suspect then fled down Carnahan Place toward Henry Avenue. Officers checked the area and discovered that four other vehicles had been entered, but did not locate the suspect.
Montgomery
   A one-vehicle crash resulting in the driver being issued summonses for careless driving and failing to wear a seat belt occurred on Route 601 near Broadway at 2:09 p.m. Friday. The driver, Sarah Conover, 18, of Montgomery was northbound on Route 601 when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a speed limit sign and utility pole, causing the pole to snap at its base and fall onto her vehicle, police said. Ms. Conover complained of neck pain and was transported to University Medical Center at Princeton by Montgomery Township Emergency Medical Services. PSE&G responded to remove the pole off the car before it was towed from the scene.
   A two-vehicle crash that resulted in one of the drivers being issued summonses for failing to produce a driver’s license and careless driving occurred on Route 518, just east of Route 601, at 5:07 p.m. Friday. Vladimir Tsalyuk, 19, of Princeton pulled out into traffic on Route 518 from a parking lot and struck a car being driven by Joann Thomas, 62, of Hamilton, who was westbound on Route 518 in the left-hand turn lane. No injuries were reported and Mr. Tsalyuk was issued the summonses.
   A Parsons Court resident reported receiving several harassing telephone calls at 7:49 p.m. Friday. The Montgomery resident said an unknown male called him twice requesting his checking account information to pay off a Discover Card balance. The resident said when he explained that he did not have a Discover Card the caller yelled profanities at him. After terminating the first call, the resident said the caller dialed his number again and yelled obscenities at him again.
   William F. Taggart, 50, of Montgomery was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Montgomery Township Municipal Court at 7:10 p.m. Friday. Mr. Taggart responded to police headquarters and posted $250 bail and was released, pending a future court appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
   A two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Route 604 and Route 601 at approximately 9 p.m. Friday. Emily H. Drake, 18, of Montgomery was westbound on Route 604, when she attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Route 601 and struck a northbound car on Route 601, driven by James T. Johnson, 24, of New Brunswick. No injuries were reported at the scene and Ms. Drake was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to yield to oncoming traffic after stopping. She is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
West Windsor
   Lea Seabridge, 19, of Yardville was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage consumption of alcohol following a traffic stop at 1 a.m. Sunday at Quakerbridge and Lawrence Station roads. Her vehicle was stopped for improperly tinted windows, and it was determined she was in possession of marijuana, a pipe, and had consumed alcohol, police said.
   Two 14-year-old Trenton females were charged with shoplifting after they attempted to steal $1,445 in of merchandise from the Kohl’s store in the Nassau Park shopping center about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the two placed the merchandise in large bags that they brought with them and placed the items in a shopping cart. The two girls had been taken to the store by one of their mothers, who had left the scene, police said, and her possible involvement is being investigated.
   Patrick Ward, 31, of Cranbury was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia after being pulled over for speeding on Route 571 at Southfield Road at 11 p.m. Friday, police reported. It was determined he was in possession of marijuana and a pipe, police said.
Plainsboro
   Someone purchased $360 worth of merchandise on Amazon.com through the account of a Pheasant Hollow Drive resident between Jan. 1 and Thursday. The perpetrator also changed all of the victim’s log-in information, preventing the victim from accessing her own account.
   Someone stole an iPod Nano out of a West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North student’s backpack between 9:50 and 10:50 a.m. Thursday. The iPod was valued at $300.
   Someone stole a wristlet from the purse of a West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North student’s backpack between 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday. Inside the wristlet were two credit cards, $42 in cash and a $25 gift card. The perpetrators used one of the credit cards at the Super Fresh supermarket, charging $378.11 in merchandise.
   Someone smashed a window of a car parked off Fox Run Drive and stole a Rocky Mountain radar detector valued at $275 between 11 p.m. Friday and 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
   Someone smashed the window of a car parked off Hunters Glen Drive and stole a $50 radar detector between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
   A Cranbury juvenile was charged with being in a park after sunset, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 10:21 p.m. Friday. Police said they saw a car parked at Community Park after sunset and smelled the odor of marijuana after approaching the vehicle. After searching the four juveniles at the scene, police said they found one to be in possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia. All four were taken to headquarters and later released to their parents.
   Jason Jennings, 31, of Somerset was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, improper maintenance of lamps and failure to make repairs following a traffic stop on southbound Route 1 south at 10:58 p.m. Friday. Police said they pulled over Mr. Jennings’ car for having a taillight out, and found Mr. Jennings to be intoxicated.
   Radar detectors were taken from two cars parked off Hunters Glen Drive after windows were smashed early Saturday morning. One incident occurred between 1 and 8 a.m. and the radar detector was valued at $125. The other incident occurred between 12:01 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and the detector was valued at $80.
   Amanda Vaccarella, 21, of Montgomery was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, making an improper turn and driving an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Dey Road at 2:49 a.m. Sunday. Police said they pulled over Ms. Vaccarella’s car for an improper turn and determined she was intoxicated.
