The Metuchen Police Department will participate in the annual Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day on Oct. 10. The program is the national initiative designed to unite the country in achieving one full day of zero traffic deaths by encouraging motorists to obey all traffic laws, including buckling up every ride, driving the posted speed limit, avoiding distractions while driving, and always being safe and sober behind the wheel.
Patrolman David Liantonio said police will conduct extra enforcement on that day.
