Mr. Bodak, 88, of South River, died Sept. 29, 2008, at home. Born in Sayreville, he resided in South River for the past 59 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star Medal and a Silver Star Medal while serving in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; his children and their spouses, Mary Lou and Marty Langen, Edison, Robert A. and Deborah Bodak, South River, and Patricia and Richard Cumming, North Brunswick; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was held at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River, followed by burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, was in charge of the arrangements.
