Habitat for Humanity is reaching out to find a veteran in need

Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity has been building homes for qualified families in our area since 1989. Currently, we are building a home designated for a disabled veteran with funds raised from the ninth annual Motorcycle Ride for Affordable Housing last October.

We have been searching for a disabled veteran with at least a 30 percent service-related disability, or the dependent family of a person killed in the line of military duty, to partner with Habitat for Humanity for this home.

The family must have a need for suitable housing and be able to make monthly payments on a zero interest mortgage. Habitat for Humanity also requires that families work alongside volunteers in the building of their home.

Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity is asking the public to reach out and help us find candidates for this home to be built in western Monmouth County. Applicants must complete a pre-qualification form that may be obtained by calling the Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity office at 732-308-3400.

If you are a disabled veteran, or know of one who is in need of suitable housing, please contact our office for more information. Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity wants to emphasize that this is not a hand-out, but a handup to an individual who fought hard to defend our freedom. This is one way for us to honor a veteran who may now be in need of our help.
