Mr. Layton, 71, of Howell, died Feb. 13, 2009, at home. He was a resident of Howell for the past 13 years. Mr. Layton was the owner of Bill’s Fork Lift Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 1000 in Trenton. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Layton; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Karen Layton of Jackson; a daughter, Andrea Layton of Jackson; two grandchildren; and three brothers and a sister, Francis Layton, Bobby Neiswinder, Joe Neiswinder and Ruthie Smullingan, all of Pennsylvania. Funeral and interment services were held at the chapel of the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt.
