Library to offer teen summer programs

This summer, the Young Adult (YA) Department of the Metuchen Public Library will offer a wide array of free programs for Metuchen teens entering grades six through 12.

Among the programs will be two book discussion groups, acting/improvisation classes, filmmaking workshops, poetry and fiction workshops, a watercolor painting class, an introduction to fencing class, and a Video Game Day.

For more information about these programs, visit www.metuchenlibraryteens.org and click on “Programs.”

The library will also offer two opportunities for Metuchen teens in grades eight through 12 to earn community service credit:

• “Book Friends,” where teens will read with first- and second-graders; and

• “Game Partners,” where teens prepare for and take part in an intergenerational Video Game Day.

For more information, visit the website and click on “Community Service Programs.”

Registration for all library programs is now open. To sign up, visit the library at 480 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen, or call 732-632- 8526, or eamil the YA librarian at [email protected].
