EAST WINDSOR: New York bus service not affected by local change

By Matt Chiappardi, Staff Writer
EAST WINDSOR — An article in the Sept. 11 Windsor-Hights Herald contained incorrect information about a New York bus line.
Service to New York City will not be affected by a change Suburban Transit is making to its service between the township and Princeton. Riders will continue to be able to board the New York-bound bus at Abbington Drive in Twin Rivers as scheduled. For more information consult the Suburban Transit Web site at www.coachusa.com/suburban/.
Starting Monday, Suburban Transit will no longer operate local service on Route 571 between the corner of Routes 130 and 571 in the township and Palmer Square in Princeton Borough, according to a flier issued by the company. The private transit company based in New Brunswick cited a low amount of daily riders as the reason for eliminating the service.
Monroe Township provides alternate service to East Windsor, the Princeton Junction train station in West Windsor and Palmer Square, the transit company said.
East Windsor also provides a shuttle to the Princeton Junction station.
