At the annual Awards for Excellence Dinner, Meridian Health, which includes Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, was recently named Outstanding Employer by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association.
The awards event honors a select group of companies whose energy and vision have resulted in exceptional achievements in four award categories: Environmental Quality, Business Expansion, Outstanding Employer and Public Service, according to a press release from Meridian.
This is the second time Meridian has received the Outstanding Employer Award.
Meridian Health was selected based on the success of its internal corporate university, Team Meridian University, where both team member and leadership development programs are offered to support training and development needs.
A Human Resources initiative, Team Meridian University was started in 2006 and is supported by certified instructors, as well as external training partners who support the growth of team members.
Meridian Health is a family of not-forprofit health care organizations that comprises Riverview, Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in Neptune, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, and Meridian partner companies that include home health services, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, ambulatory care, ambulance services, and occupational health centers located throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties.
