Mrs. DeBenedetto, 97, of Jackson, died Dec. 30, 2009, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. She was born in Avellino, Italy, and came to the United States in 1957. Mrs. DeBenedetto, a homemaker, had lived in Manalapan and Freehold before moving to Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband, Marco, in 1984; a son, Edio, in 1942; two brothers; and a sister. She is survived by a son, Dal DeBenedetto of Freehold; seven daughters, Carmela Sarno of Bedford, England, Rose Sole of Mossele, France, Bianca Esposito of Toms River, Margaret Melia of Barnegat, Mary Johns of Nutley, Gilda McCaffrey of Monroe, and Josephine Pribush of Scotch Plains; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Nicolina of Italy. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by entombment in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Union.
