Lt. Stahl, 67, of Long Branch, died Dec. 28, 2009, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was a lieutenant with the West Long Branch Police Department, retiring in 2007. Prior to that, he was employed at Bendix, Eatontown, and a sergeant at Monmouth College Police Department, West Long Branch. He was a member of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey, and the Monmouth County Bias Crime Commission. He was predeceased a son, Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Ann Roth Stahl; seven children, Michael, Tammy, Robyn, Thomas and Anthony Stahl, Tiffany and her husband, Keith Noonan, and Ian Rivera; two brothers, John Stahl and Bobby Stahl; and a sister, Lois Lamphere; and five grandchildren.
