Congratulates mayor for accomplishments

I am a resident of East Brunswick. Like all townships and cities in the state, my hometown is facing hard financial times.

The residents of East Brunswick, however, are fortunate to have a mayor such as David Stahl. Over the last year, Mayor Stahl, with the support of the Township Council, has made major strides in cutting waste and decreasing expenses. As a resident, I am elated that their efforts have been achieved with only minimal cuts to nonessential services.

By all reports, Mayor Stahl has been vigorously renegotiating numerous township contracts that have come up for renewal, and his efforts have saved the township hundreds of thousands of dollars. His recently concluded renegotiation of the township’s employee health-insurance contract has saved East Brunswick more than $100,000 alone.

I applaud the mayor for his aggressive no-nonsense approach in dealing with the difficult financial situation that he inherited. I would say that his first year in office has been a successful one, and, as a taxpayer, I hope that Mayor Stahl keeps up the good work.
