MILLSTONE — The eighth-grade lacrosse team recently captured the Seventh/ Eighth Grade Indoor Lacrosse Championship at GoodSports in Wall.

The team had an undefeated 10-game season, capturing the championship April 2 against a tough Manalapan Nomads team.

The season was delayed due to the collapse of the bubble covering the field during the first snowstorm on Dec. 20.

The team, coached by Matt Deiner and Pat Larkin, has been playing together since the sixth grade during the winter months at GoodSports. They paid their dues for the past two years against older and bigger competition and were not to be denied this season, according to the coaches.

There were 12 teams in their division, including players from Manalapan, Manasquan, Wall, Colts Neck, Jackson and Howell.

The Millstone team started its outdoor season a few weekends ago in West Windsor.
