Dance for dogs and cats at Zumba Bowl

The Action Room, 4411 Route 9 north, Howell, will host a Zumba event 1-4 p.m. Feb. 6 that will benefit people who love to dance — in addition to dogs and cats who want to be loved.

The annual “Zumba Bowl” Super Bowl Sunday Zumba-thon fundraiser, a threehour Zumba event conducted by professional Zumba instructors, will feature door prizes and healthful snacks to keep the dancers dancing.

According to a press release, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Rescue RidgeAnimal Rescue. Admission is $10, or $5 if an item that Rescue Ridge is in need of is brought. Visit www.rescueridge.petfinder.com for a list of items that would help the animals.

Leading up to the event, the Action Room is raising money for Rescue Ridge during the entire month of January with its “Road to the Zumba Bowl” promotion.

All Zumba classes during the month are open to the public, with no membership required. A donation (pet item or money) for Rescue Ridge will allow those interested to take a few Zumba classes and start training for the Zumba Bowl while helping local animals in need.
