Caregivers can view their children’s grades, attendance, disciplinary records

NORTH BRUNSWICK — In the first week of its establishment, an online portal for parents of North Brunswick Township High School students received more than 1,900 clicks.

The program launched March 28, providing registered parents with access to their children’s daily attendance, grades, report cards, disciplinary records and schedule information. The program is an initiative of Superintendent of Schools Brian Zychowski.

“Parents are certainly taking advantage of the service,” said Chad Marcus, the supervisor of Instructional Technology, Assessment & Grants for the school district.

Updated daily, the information will be posted in real time through Genesis, the student management program the district has been using for the past 10 years. The decision was made to allow parental access to the database.

“We have an ongoing goal to utilize technology to enhance our effectiveness and communicate with parents,” Marcus said.

Any parent who did not receive an email regarding the portal can visit www.nbtschools.org under the NBTHS website, complete the registration form and bring it with valid identification to the high school to register. Forms will not be accepted from students, through email or via fax. Approved parents and guardians will receive account information via email within five school days.
