Parks have volunteer docent positions

The Monmouth County Park System seeks volunteers to become docents/ receptionists. Volunteers should be 21 or over and enjoy interacting with people. Duties will include greeting visitors and providing information about facilities, exhibits, park history, upcoming events and on-site ecology. Other responsibilities may include light upkeep of facilities and exhibits.

Volunteers are asked to provide a minimum six-hour commitment per month. Docents are asked to attend an additional site training presented by park system naturalists. Once trained, volunteers will be placed at the Huber Woods Environmental Center in Middletown, the Bayshore Waterfront Park Activity Center in Port Monmouth, or the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell on weekends in half-day shifts.
