Congregation Kol Am schedules services

On July 1, Congregation Kol Am will commence a yearlong celebration of its 10th anniversary by launching its summer Shabbat services at Calgo Gardens.

The summer liturgy, offered by Rabbi Brooks Susman, reaffirms some very basic tenets of Reform Judaism, by encouraging families to join together to celebrate the peaceful joy of the Sabbath and promoting the idea that their presence, not brick and mortar, actually creates a sanctuary.

Calgo Gardens, once known as the oldest nursery in Ocean County, was transplanted in 2010 to Monmouth County by Mark and Penny Estomin.

The 7-acre nursery will serve as Congregation Kol Am’s “Garden of Eden” through Labor Day, with services beginning at 8 p.m. Calgo Gardens is at 462 Adelphia Road, Howell.

Those interested in participating in Congregation KolAm summer Shabbat services are encouraged to call 732-792-8000 or visit www.congregationkolam.org.
