Board changes general counsel

From now through the date when the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education holds its reorganization meeting following the April 2012 school election, there will be new general legal counsel to the board.

At its meeting on Nov. 14 the board appointed the Comengo Law Group, of Moorestown, to serve as general counsel.

The Comengo Law Group will take over that role from the firm of Schwartz Simon Edelstein and Celso.

A motion to retain the Comengo Law Group as the FRHSD’s general counsel was passed in a 6-2 vote. Board members Heshy Moses, Jennifer Sutera, Kathie Lavin, Maryanne Tomazic, Carl Accettola and Bill Bruno voted yes on the motion.

Board members Ron Lawson and Michael Messinger voted no on the motion.

Board member Elizabeth Canario was absent from the meeting.

The board members voted 8-0 to retain the firm of Schwartz Simon Edelstein and Celso as its special education and labor negotiations counsel.
