Llewellyn F. Evans

Mr. Evans, 93, of Manchester, died Feb. 14, 2012, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was born in Flushing, N.Y., and resided in Jackson for 38 years. Prior to retiring, he was employed as an insurance adjuster for Cigna, New York City. Before that, he worked for the Insurance Company of NorthAmerica. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the American Defense Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; four sons, Llewellyn F. Evans Jr., of Wolcott, Conn., Stephen D. Evans of Roxbury, Conn., JayA. Evans of Toms River, and Richard J. Evans of NewYork City; two daughters, Doral R. Thomas of Brick and Barbara M. Evans of Woodbury, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, followed by a private cremation. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
