ROBBINSVILLE: Gingerbread House contest set for Dec. 10

ROBBINSVILLE — The Robbinsville Women’s Club and local Girl Scouts are inviting the community to take part in a sweet competition.
The nonprofit groups’ first gingerbread house contest is taking place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Senior Center. There are more than 30 registered participants who will be displaying their confectionery creations, said Donna Marchetti, of the Robbinsville Women’s Club.
Visitors can vote for their favorite houses, with the winner receiving the People’s Choice Award. Local chefs serving as event judges will also make awards for Best in Class and Most Original in four different age categories. There is also a special “group” category for gingerbread houses made by families.The Allentown-Robbinsville Girl Scouts will have crafts for the children who attend, and Santa will be there for pictures. Refreshments will also be served.
Admission is free, but residents are asked to bring a donation for the Robbinsville Food Pantry, which serves needy families in the community.
