Mr. Hoven, 84, of Jackson, died Jan. 5, 2013, at home. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1989, he was employed as a physical design engineer for Alcatel-Lucent for 37 years. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Charlotte, of Jackson; a son, Glenn C. Hoven of Brick Township; two daughters, Susan A. Hoven of Lakewood, and Cheryl L. Clark and her husband, Charles Clark Sr., of Jackson; a brother, Ralph A. Hoven of East Meadow, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson, followed by interment in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown section of North Hanover.
