PRINCETON AREA: Police blotter

Princeton
   A victim reported her Macbook Pro laptop and case valued at a total of $530 were stolen at a Princeton University eating club on Prospect Avenue sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on May 16.
   A neighboring business reported ACE Hardware in the Princeton Shopping Center had a broken window on May 17 at 7:17 a.m. Police said someone entered the store and stole $150 in cash from inside.
   A resident of Riverside Drive reported several items including an iPad valued at $680 was stolen while he or she was moving into his or her new house on May 18 at 10:54 a.m. The victim reported the suspect also got a hold of his or her credit card information and bought $3,000 worth of merchandise.
   Cornelius Toma Jr., 36, of Princeton, and Lindsay Mackay, 27, of Trenton, were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in the wooded area off Edgerstoune Road on May 18 at 12:20 p.m. Mr. Toma was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance police said they believe to be heroin and also having $6,500 in active warrants out of Trenton.
   Nakhil Oak, 27, of St. Charles, Ill., was charged with driving while intoxicated on North Harrison Street on May 18 at 3:15 a.m.
   Joseph Rabatie, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting $94.50 worth of items from two stores on Nassau Street and having $500 in active warrant out of Trenton on May 19 at 3:55 p.m. Police said they recovered the stolen items.
   Rodrigo Trinta, 34, of Plainfield, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that police said they believed to be methamphetamine at a Linden Lane residence on May 16 at 2:57 p.m. He was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment and observation.
   West Windsor
   A resident of Dey Road reported $50 worth of damage was done to his or her mailbox sometime between 8 p.m. on May 11 and 10 a.m. on May 12.
   Lily Yu, 51, of West Windsor, was charged with shoplifting $71 worth of cosmetics from Kohl’s in the Nassau Park Retail Center on May 14 at 12:23 p.m.
   Prestina E. Ray, 48, of Trenton, and Dedria G. Jackson, 49, of Bordentown, were both charged with stealing $94 worth of merchandise from Home Goods in the Nassau Park Retail Center on May 15 at 3:29 p.m.
   A resident of Ewing reported someone made $500 worth of fraudulent purchases at Lowe’s with his or her store credit card sometime between 10 a.m. and noon on May 4.
   Lowe’s on Brunswick Pike reported one male and two females stole a mailbox and threatened the manager with an activated taser when the manager tried to stop them on May 11 at 4:53 p.m. Police said they had also taken other merchandise. The male was described as black, with a large build, about 30 to 40-years-old. The two females were both described as black with large builds and about 40 to 50-years-old. One was described as having long black hair with a red stripe in a ponytail.
Montgomery
   Desley A. Caraccioli, 31, of Bound Brook, was charged with possession of marijuana less than 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia after getting pulled over on May 10. He also received summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and maintenance of lamps.
   Montgomery teenagers Kevin Johnson, 18, Joseph Shovlin, 19, and Mitchell Ren, 18, were all charged with possession of marijuana while they were parked on Canterbury Lane on May 19 at 7 p.m. Mr. Johnson also received a summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Plainsboro
   A resident of Tennyson Drive reported three clothing outfits worth a total of $210 were stolen from his or her home on May 19 at 12:42 p.m. Police said no forced entry was found.
   Troy R. Allen, 35, of Deptford, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Route 1 on May 19 at 3:05 a.m. He also received summonses for refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, unclear plates and open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
   Yinan Zhang, 51, of Ayer, Mass., and his two children, ages 6 and 7, were in a car accident on May 19 when Mr. Zhang’s Toyota Camry hit a pole on Scudders Mill Road at 5:02 p.m. Police said Mr. Zhang was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton in Plainsboro and that the children, who were sitting in the back seat, were not injured. The ramps for Scudders Mill Road westbound were closed for about an hour during the investigation. Mr. Zhang received a summons for careless driving.
   A Princeton High School male student, 18, reported his iPhone 5 worth $127 was stolen from an unattended table during his high school prom at the Westin Hotel on Village Boulevard sometime between 9:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 17.
   Anthony Inserillo, 19, of Brooklyn, was charged with possession of a fraudulent government document for allegedly having a fake driver’s license after getting pulled over on Route 1 on May 18 at 12:49 a.m.
   A student at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North reported his or her Buffet E-11 wooden clarinet and its accessories worth an estimated total of $2,000 were stolen from the band room sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 17.
   A student at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North reported his iPhone worth an estimated $350 and $15 in cash were stolen from his unsecured backpack in the boy’s locker room sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on May 19.
   A female resident of Hedge Row Road in the Princeton Windrows community reported a black male who appeared to be 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds entered a Hedge Row Road residence and stole $100 cash from the homeowner’s wallet that was located on the washing machine sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 1 p.m. on May 19.
   Jennifer Ortiz-Leon, 31, of Somerset, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Route 1 on May 20 at 2:27 a.m. She also received summonses for reckless driving, maintenance of lamps, unclear plates and failure to exhibit registration.
   Fire departments from Plainsboro, Cranbury, East Windsor, Hightstown and Montgomery in addition to the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab extinguished a fire in the second story of a Drayton Lane residence on May 19 at 1:38 a.m. A 53-year-old woman was home alone at the time and spent the rest of the night at a neighbor’s house. There were no injuries. Police are uncertain of the extent of the damages and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
