Mayor thanks residents for town hall meetings

Ed Trzaska, Mayor, Montgomery Township
To the editor:
Earlier this year, I created the “Meet the Mayor” series of town hall meetings 4 a first for Montgomery. My goal was to conduct eight meetings with various local organizations and homeowner associations. As of this week, I am proud to announce that all eight have been completed.
I would like to thank the following groups for hosting me and for the pleasure of meeting their members/residents:
Rotary Club of Montgomery/Rocky Hill; Tapestry Homeowners Association; Montgomery Business Association; Hua Xia Chinese School; Pike Run Masters Association; Stonebridge at Montgomery; Montgomery Tea Party; Cherry Valley Homeowners Association.
Over 300 residents attended the series of meetings, which included extensive and completely unrestricted question and answer sessions with attendees. I hope to see this initiative established as an annual tradition in Montgomery, regardless of who is mayor.
These town hall-style meetings have been rewarding and an excellent way for me to personally stay connected with residents. We have a very engaged population and I learned a lot from all the conversations.
Even though the2013 series is over, I look forward to doing more events thisyear. I am always willing and ready to spend time with any group that asks.
