HILLSBOROUGH: Sheriff candidate to address Democratic Alliance

Senate candidate representatives should attend, too

Richard Arline, Democratic candidate for Somerset County sheriff, will address the Hillsborough Democratic Alliance on Wednesday, July 10, beginning at 6:45 p.m. at the Avalon Assisted Living Center, 393 Amwell Road.
Mr. Arline, who has 34 years experience in law enforcement, will entertain audience questions.
A representative from Democratic Congressman Rush Holt’s U.S. Senate campaign will attend. Representatives from the other Democratic Senate campaigns have been invited.
The primary for this race is coming up on Aug. 13, and mail-in ballots have already been distributed. The meeting is also an opportunity to find out about the similarities and differences in candidates on issues such as civil rights, gun control, immigration reform, the environment and the economy.
Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30, and the meeting will start at 6:45.
The Politics Book Club continues on Thursday, Aug. 1, 7-9 p.m., with “The Last Gun — How Changes in the Gun Industry are Killing Americans and What It Will Take to Stop It” by Tom Diaz. The restaurant is still to be determined, so contact [email protected] if you are interested.
