Sandy Gibson of Union Named President of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters

UNION, N.J.  – July 2, 2013 – Sandy Gibson has been named President of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters (NJAHU). The statewide organization represents licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefit professionals in New Jersey who service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as individuals.
With 20 years in the health insurance industry, Gibson is exceptionally qualified for the position of President. Gibson has been active in the NJAHU for years, serving as NJAHU President-Elect and Convention Chair, as well as two terms as President of the NJAHU Central Chapter. During her tenure, the Central Chapter exceeded its member recruitment goals, revised its by-laws, hosted numerous educational events and supported the community through charitable contributions to the Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick.
Gibson, also the recipient of NJAHU’s 2011 President’s Award for her extreme dedication to the association, said that his was a pivotal time for the association. “With the new Affordable Care Act being implemented, NJAHU’s role as advocate for New Jersey’s health insurance brokers is more important than ever,” she said. “The NJAHU will also continue to provide the most up-to-date information to our members about the constantly changing regulations they need to know and we serve as an important source of information for the legislators who craft those regulations.”
Gibson is the small employer health retention manager for AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey. She resides in Union.
