PRINCETON: Semifinals set for rec hoops

   The semifinals are set for the Princeton Recreation Men’s Summer Basketball League, with the top four seeds scheduled to play tonight to determine who advances to the best-of-three championship series.
   Defending champion Winberie’s advanced to the finals with a 66-51 win over ninth-seeded WTG. Cliff Pollard led a balanced scoring effort with 17 points, while Chris Edwards had 14, Loucious Kirkley 12, and Terrance Bailey 11. Alex Pavlovich led WTG with 23 points, while Jim Reilly chipped in with 10.
   Winberie’s will meet fourth-seeded Ivy Inn, which rallied to defeat the PA Blue Devils, 33-27, in their quarterfinal. Devon Holman and Bobby Davison scored nine points each in the win, while Zach Sibel had 11 points in the loss.
   In the other semifinal, second-seeded Sneakers Plus will face third-seeded Dr. Palmer. Sneakers Plus advanced with a 45-34 win over Northeast Realty as Bobby Brackett led the way with 14 points. Davon Black scored 13 in the loss. Dr. Palmer topped Clear View Window Cleaning, 42-39, in double-overtime in their quarterfinal matchup. DeQuan Holman had 15 points in the win, while Mark Snider had 12 in the loss.
   Tonight’s schedule will have Dr. Palmer facing Sneakers Plus at 7:15 p.m. and Ivy Inn against Winberie’s at 8:30 p.m. Between games the league will introduce its latest Hall of Fame class with a ceremony that will also include the naming of the MVP and Newcomer of the Year.
   In the playoff play-in game, WTG topped Princeton Youth Sports, 40-20, as Mike McCurry led a balanced offense with 11 points. Cal O’Meara had six for PYS.
