Yard sale
at high school
   An “Old and New Treasures” Yard Sale sponsored by the Monroe Township High School PTO will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the high school on Schoolhouse Road. Tentative rain date is Oct. 12.
   Fee for each space is $10 in advance, $15 on day of event. Proceeds help support the scholarship fund.

Art show
and sale
   Watercolorists Unlimited will hold its second annual fall art show and sale at the Parsonage Barn, at 3 Cranbury Neck Road on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 to 4. The show will feature work from 13 female artists who have been painting and critiquing together for as long as 25 years. There will be framed pieces as well as matted work with many local scenes being featured.
   Several Cranbury artists will have work on display, including Virginia Swanagan, Wilma Shimer and Lisa Walsh. All work will be for sale and many of the artists will be present on Saturday. Come early for the best selection. Cash and check only.
   The show will be in a historic barn built in 1741 and moved to its current location in 2010. The barn has no electricity and the exhibit will be shown in natural light. The barn is located in a barn park of three historic barns. Parking is available on Main Street and in Heritage Park on Main St.
Art show

   MONROE — The Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission’s annual juried art show will be held from Monday, Oct. 21, through Monday, Oct. 28.
   It will be held at the Monroe Township Public Library.
   Juror Jeff Cohen is a professional artist and teacher who does paintings, sculpture and ceramics.
   The exhibit is open to living artists of all ages. Work must be original and not from kits.
   Artists should present their work at the conference room in the library on Tuesday, Oct. 15. between 3 and 7 p.m. Artwork not accepted must be picked up Friday, Oct. 18, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Crafts vendors
are sought
   Craft vendors still are being sought for Monroe Township’s 20th annual Octoberfest.
   The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Monroe Township Community Center.
   Admission to the event is free.
   In addition to food, crafts and toy vendors, the day will include entertainment, a petting zoo, pony rides, games, a DJ by Noble Productions, a Mickey Mouse toddler bounce, a circus train, Dunk Pit Basketball, the Gladiator Joust, a giant slide, magician, cheerleaders, twirlers, face painting, temporary tattoos and more.

courtyard
   A contributor’s courtyard benefiting the Monroe Township Public Library Foundation, is at 4 Municipal Plaza.
   It includes a tribute or memorial to a special person. Paving bricks are available for inscription at $100 each and will be placed permanently in the courtyard.
   Donation forms available at the circulation desk; proceeds benefit the foundation.
