HOPEWELL: Police blotter

   Hopewell Township police Lt. William Springer reported:
   — Officer Joseph Maccaquano went to a Hamilton Avenue, Hopewell Borough business to check out a report of criminal mischief on Nov. 26. The officer learned that sometime between Oct. 30 and Nov. 25, someone caused damage to two glass doors at the business. The estimated cost of the damage is $700.
   — Officer Mandy Grey went to a Carter Road residence to investigate a report of a trespasser on Nov. 22. The officer made contact with Ronald Lowry, 34, of Cleveland Road, Princeton, who was inside the residence and did not have permission to be there.
   Mr. Lowry appeared very intoxicated and could not explain his presence inside the residence, police said.
   The officer then learned that Mr. Lowry had driven his vehicle to the end of Cleveland Road and walked through the woods to the Carter Road residence.
   Mr. Lowry was transported to police headquarters, processed and issued a warrant for criminal trespassing. He also was issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving and refusing to take a breath test.
   Mr. Lowry was committed to the Mercer County Correction Center after being unable to post bail. His case will be forwarded to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office for review.
   — Officer Alexis Mirra stopped a vehicle on Denow Road for speeding on Nov. 24. The officer spoke with the driver, Devin Taylor, 28, of Hover Avenue, Bloomfield. The officer learned that Mr. Taylor’s license was suspended and he was wanted on an outstanding traffic warrant from Bloomfield.
   Mr. Taylor was transported to police headquarters, processed and issued summonses for speeding, driving while suspended, failure to exhibit registration and failure to exhibit insurance.
   Mr. Taylor posted bail on the traffic warrant and was released.
   — Officer James Rosso stopped a motor vehicle on Route 546 for a view obstruction and loud muffler on Nov. 24. The officer spoke with the driver who stated he did not have his license with him.
   Further investigation revealed that the driver Wesley Cesar, 23, of West Bridge Street, Morrisville, Pennsylvania, provided a false name initially because he did not possess a valid driver’s license.
   Mr. Cesar was transported to police headquarters and charged with hindering his own apprehension, driving with an obstructed view, driving with a loud muffler, being an unlicensed driver and failure to produce a valid license.
   Mr. Cesar was released. His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
   — Officer John Ferner stopped a motor vehicle on West Broad Street, Hopewell Borough, for speeding on Nov. 28. The officer spoke with the driver, Emmanuel Gonzalez, 20, of West Mechanic Street, New Hope, who had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. After performing field sobriety tests, Mr. Gonzalez was transported to police headquarters, processed and issued summonses for speeding, DWI, reckless driving and driving without a license.
   Mr. Gonzalez was later released to a friend. His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
