Radio play to focus on Thomas Edison

Raconteur Radio will present “The Wizard of Menlo Park,” an old-time radio play, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Metuchen Public Library, 480 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen.

In the play, Thomas Alva Edison reflects back upon his long, dynamic career as inventor, scientist and businessman. Edison opens an invention factory at Menlo Park, perfects the phonograph and, with great trial-and-error, succeeds in inventing a practical electric light.

The “Wizard of Menlo Park” is a staged radio play, complete with costumes, lighting and sound effects. The show stars Michael Jarmus, Thom Boyer, Laurence Mintz and Alex Dawson.

Open to all, the free performance is a family event. This program is one in a series at the Metuchen Public Library celebrating New Jersey’s 350th anniversary. It is paid for by the Friends of the Metuchen Public Library. For more information, email [email protected].
