College ensemble slates spring dance concert

The Middlesex County College Dance Ensemble will present its 14th annual spring dance concert, “Innovation & Celebration,” at 7 p.m. April 25 and 2 p.m. April 26 at the Performing Arts Center on the college’s Edison campus, 2600 Woodbridge Ave.

To honor the college’s 50th anniversary, the ensemble is participating in the Liberal Arts Festival, with a focus on innovation. The dances presented are inspired by themes of innovation, celebration, anniversary, the No. 50 and the era in which the college opened.

The ensemble is modern dance-based, but also performs dance genres such as hip-hop, jazz, tap, contemporary and ballet. Along with professional choreographer Lees Hummel, several students and alumni will choreograph the program.

The performances are free with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
