Junebug ArtFest returning in Metuchen

The eighth annual Junebug ArtFest will kick off from 6-10 p.m. June 5 with openair art exhibits, interactive events and live performances on Main Street.

Event dates are 6-10 p.m. June 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Arts and crafts in oil, acrylics, watercolors, photography, sculpture, glass, precious stones and textiles, as well as rock and jazz musicians, dance performances and open mic sessions, will be featured at various locations.

Anthony Cappetto, a renowned sidewalk chalk artist who specializes in the art form of 3D illusionary street painting, will create an interactive piece in front of Borough Hall. Taking place over a three- to four-day period, the project will be unveiled on June 12.

Downtown Metuchen businesses will host a juried window gallery competition and a series of storefront window displays highlighting the work of established artists throughout the month of June.

Three professional artists will paint a large mural on the shed behind the Old Franklin Schoolhouse.
