MANVILLE: Onderko wins four-way Republican race for mayor nomination

Manville Borough Council President Richard M. Onderko won a hotly contested four-way race for the Republican nomination for mayor on Tuesday.
Mr. Onderko received 195 votes. He and Councilman Mark Gregor, who won the Democratic nomination without a contest, will square off in the fall to succeed Angelo Corradino, who will retire after a total of 20 years as mayor. Mr. Gregor polled 147 votes in his party’s primary.
In the GOP race for mayor, Joseph Lukac III, a former Democratic council candidate, got 140, and Councilwoman Susan Asher, a past GOP candidate for mayor, received 121. Former Borough Councilwoman Sherri A. Lynn, running on the top line, got 109 votes.

They got 240 and 207 votes, respectively, to lead the field of five. Louis H. Petzinger Jr. polled 196 votes and Michael J. Chabra Jr. received 171 running with Ms. Lynn.
