‘Baskervilles’ radio play coming to library

Raconteur Radio will present “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” a staged radio play based on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle novel featuring the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, at 2 p.m. June 20 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

The program, which will recreate the experience of the Golden Age of Radio from props to costumes to the iconic “fat boy” microphone, is set in the eerie mists of Dartmoor and the black block of Baskerville Hall. Audience members will be immersed in the fog of the moors and taken back in time to Dartmoor in England’s south Devon. The cast will feature Laurence Mintz as Sherlock Holmes, Michael Jarmus as Dr. Watson and Jason Jackson as Sir Henry Baskerville and assorted other characters.

The production, which is recommended for ages 8 and up, is co-sponsored by the Friends of the East Brunswick Public Library and the East Brunswick Arts Commission. Admission is free of charge.
