PRINCETON: Developer plans new building at corner of Nassau and Charlton

By Philip Sean Curran, Staff Writer
Developer Roman Barsky intends to raze a building at the corner of Nassau and Charlton streets and construct a new one to contain retail space and three apartments, according to plans filed with the town two weeks ago.
The new three-floor building will be about the same size as the current one, 5,300 square feet, documents showed.
Mr. Barsky acquired the property from local landlord Sandy Zeitler last year for $999,000, according to a copy of the deed that was filed with the application. In a phone interview, Mr. Barsky said Friday that the building is in bad shape and impossible to renovate.
The application will be heard by the Planning Board. Mr. Barsky said he is looking to get started “as soon as I get approval.”
“I think it’s going to be a good improvement for the town,” he said.
The property is located directly across the street from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.
