MONROE: Missing man found dead

MONROE — The Rutherford man who did not show up for work in Jamesburg on Monday was found dead in his vehicle in Monroe on Wednesday, according to Monroe police.
The Monroe Township Police Department received a call at 12:16 p.m. on July 29 about a suspicious vehicle with an unresponsive person in it behind a residence off of Federal Road, according to police.
The deceased, Alfred Fiume, 53, was reported missing two days prior. Mr. Fiume was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:44 p.m., and his body was removed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office pending an autopsy, according to police.
While it does not appear foul play was involved, Mr. Fiume’s death is under investigation by the Monroe Township Police Department, according to police.
Mr. Fiume was last seen on July 26 at 9:30 a.m. His cell phone pinged in the area of Gravel Hill Road in Monroe Township on July 27 at 7:57 a.m., according to police. 
