Educators can take part in Rider University Writing Project programs

The National Writing Project at Rider University (NWP@Rider) invites all area K- 12 educators to participate in the following events and programs:

The NWP@Rider Fall Harvest Literacy Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 17.

The NWP@Rider Assignments Matter Professional Development Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Rider University’s Mercer Room, Daly’s Dining Hall. The program is free for participants, funded through a Bill and Melinda Gates grant.

The NWP@Rider Continuity Event will be held 4:30-6 p.m. Jan. 19, 2016, in the SRC Seminar Room. This will be an investigation into current issues in literacy education led by Russ Walsh, literacy specialist.

Another NWP@Rider Continuity Event, investigating technology with Laura Fay, a NWP@Rider TC, middle school language arts teacher and certified Google educator, will be held 4:30-6 p.m. March 8, 2016, in the SRC Seminar Room.

A third NWP@Rider Continuity Event – an evening of roundtable conversations highlighting teacher leadership – will be held 4:30-6 p.m. May 10. 2016, in Memorial Hall 302.
